Aeshaane by Neesha Amrish

Our peace silk collection is crafted in collaboration with Aeshaane by Neesha Amrish, an award-winning slow fashion house redefining heritage craftsmanship.

Founded by Neesha Amrish, Aeshaane works with rural artisans, preserving the ancient art of hand-printing while seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Their signature geometric patterns blur the lines between heritage and contemporary design, creating truly one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Recognized globally, Aeshaane was handpicked by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London for the ‘Fabric of India Festival’ (2013) and has been retailing with them ever since. Their work has also been showcased at the British Museum (UK), Van Gogh Museum ( Netherlands) Textiel Museum (Netherlands), and Fondazione Ferrara Arte (Italy).

”The social impact we have on communities whom we partner with, is as important as the products we make. Our purpose is simple but powerful, to provide fair pay, dignified and sustainable livelihood to artisans, helping them to achieve economic independence and create a  better live for themselves” – Neesha Amrish

The Burlap People

We have partnered with The Burlap People in Kolkata to create our eco-friendly bag collection. With a rich legacy of enhancing the aesthetic and functional value of jute, they have been pioneers in screen and block printing on jute in India.

Their skilled artisans—many of whom are third- or fourth-generation bag makers—handcraft each piece using advanced weaving, dyeing, printing, and embroidery techniques. The result is a collection of unique, beautifully crafted bags that celebrate both tradition and sustainability while highlighting the natural beauty and eco-friendly nature of jute.

Rangsutra & the Artisans of Kashmir

Our wool collection is crafted in partnership with Rangsutra, a social enterprise empowering over 2,000 artisans across India. With 80% of their shareholders being rural women, Rangsutra is dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods while preserving India’s rich textile traditions.

Our wool wraps come from Rangsutra’s Bandipora Producer Unit, a weaving cluster in Kashmir, a region known for its sheep rearing and masterful wool weaving techniques. The area is famous for its Tweed and Kaani weaves, carrying forward a legacy of craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

At Urban Medley, we collaborate with artisans to promote local skills and resources, provide fair employment, and support upskilling initiatives for indigenous weavers. Staying true to our values, we create lasting, eco-friendly pieces made with care and dignity. By working with skilled artisans, we ensure fair pay, small-batch production, and timeless craftsmanship, offering you pieces that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

The Artisans of Jamdani Weaving

Jamdani weaving is more than just a craft—it is an art form. Known for its intricate handwoven motifs, Jamdani is considered one of the most advanced hand-weaving techniques in the world. Each motif is meticulously inlaid into the fabric by adding denser threads to fine warp threads, all done by hand with unmatched skill and precision.

This process is deeply rooted in community, often involving families of weavers, dyers, and spinners working together in perfect coordination. For our cotton Jamdani collection, we have partnered with Karomi, a Kolkata-based design house founded by sisters Sarita Ganeriwala and Sarika Ginodia. Their approach to design is best described as a movement of elements, translated into textile, brought to life by nearly 200 skilled weavers.

Every piece begins as an idea on the drawing table, explored through colors, patterns, and artistic freedom before being carefully graphed out for the weavers. The result—handwoven
